If you haven't heard already NASA recently released videos and pictures of their totally awesome futuristic 'chain-mail' that will protect astronauts from flying space debris.

Wearables are the new thing nowadays. Turn on your TV for a couple minutes and you will be inundated with images of actual humans placing cardboard VR headsets on their faces, or better yet, an apple watch that will basically do everything but put your pants on for you.
NASA, however, is working with 3-D printing, or what they call 4-D printing (the fourth dimension being the utility of the product), to bring actual futuristic protection that looks totally awesome! Unlike chain mail which is joined together by small, separate rungs of iron this 'space fabric' is printed as one movable unit.

It is incredibly flexible, light, and durable. Not to mention it will keep a tiny flying meteorite from putting a bullet hole in your stomach while in space.
